The rebuilt analytics dashboard inside Easy Social Share Buttons gives you real-time click tracking on every share button - by network, placement, device, and content - without leaving WordPress.

The challenge
A total share count is a lagging indicator. To grow social sharing on your WordPress site, you need to know which buttons get clicked, where on the page, on which device, and on which content — then act on it.
You might remove a floating sidebar button that was quietly driving 40% of your shares, or keep a dead inline placement because you assume it's working. Guessing is expensive when every pixel of your page competes for attention.
Know exactly which social network drives the most clicks on desktop, which placement converts best on mobile, and which posts earn the most social engagement — then act on it directly inside WordPress.
Getting started
No configuration, no external accounts, no waiting. If Easy Social Share Buttons is already on your site, you're one toggle away from real-time analytics.
The analytics dashboard is built into the plugin. If your share buttons are live on your site, no additional installation is needed.
Go to Social Sharing → Analytics in your WordPress admin and enable the analytics function. One click — that's it.
As soon as visitors click your share buttons, clicks appear in your dashboard. No delay, no sync window — reporting is real time from the first event.
Real-time click data
Inside the dashboard
Each report answers a specific question about your social sharing performance. They're fully interconnected — drill from a summary view into any detail in one click.
Four KPI cards, a 30-day activity trend chart, and a top-10 most-shared content table. Your daily overview, loaded by default.
Compare every social network by total clicks, desktop vs mobile split, best placement, and best performing content. Sortable and searchable.
Measure performance of every share button placement — inline content, floating sidebar, sticky bar, popup — to prioritize what earns space on your pages.
All posts and pages ranked by share button clicks. See top network, top position, and a desktop/mobile breakdown for every piece of content you publish.
Side-by-side desktop and mobile comparison on a shared timeline. Understand when mobile engagement peaks and how network preferences differ by device.
A network-vs-position matrix showing click intensity per cell. Instantly reveals which combinations work and which waste your page layout.
The most actionable report in the dashboard. It analyzes growth, decline, and emerging patterns across your networks and positions — then generates specific recommendations: which networks to promote, which to remove, and the optimal share button order for desktop vs mobile users.
Stop moving share buttons by gut feel. The heatmap plots every social network against every placement position and color-codes each cell by click volume. You can see at a glance that Facebook performs strongly in your inline content area but gets ignored in the floating sidebar — and make the change immediately.
Filter by all devices, desktop only, or mobile only. The matrix updates instantly.
The Trends report goes further than any visualization. It evaluates your growth rate, decline signals, and emerging patterns — then writes you a specific action plan: which networks to move up in order, which positions to eliminate, and whether your desktop and mobile audiences need different button arrangements.
No analytics background required. Every recommendation includes a plain-language explanation of what the data means and a single action item.
You don't need to leave the editor to check how a post's share buttons are performing. A dedicated metabox below every post and page shows its click data — by network and position — for the last 30 days.
Ideal for content teams who never open the main analytics dashboard but still need to know whether their content is getting shared and through which channels.
Privacy & compliance
The analytics engine for share button click tracking collects only what is necessary for optimization: which button was clicked, its position, the generic device type, and the post. Nothing personal is ever stored or transmitted.
All internal analytics data is processed and stored entirely within your own WordPress installation. There are no requests to external analytics services, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts added to your front end.
No IP addresses stored — ever
No browser fingerprinting or user agent logging
Device type recorded only as mobile or desktop — no brand or model
No external analytics services or third-party requests
Zero impact on front-end page speed or Core Web Vitals
Analytics data can be reset or deleted from the Advanced settings tab
Fully GDPR-compliant — no consent banner required for the analytics module
Share conversion tracking
With Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress, you can instantly start measuring share button conversion tracking and gain actionable insights into how your audience engages with social sharing across your site. Discover which social networks drive the most click-throughs and which button positions generate the highest share engagement — then easily optimize their display for maximum impact on your content reach.
The internal analytics dashboard lets you filter share click data by precise timeframes — today, the last 7 days, the last 30 days, or all-time historical data — with the option to reset your dataset at any point. This makes it simple to measure the effect of layout changes, new content strategies, or seasonal traffic shifts on your social sharing performance.
When the advanced analytics module is enabled, all collected share conversion data remains fully anonymous. No device information, IP addresses, or personal visitor details are stored at any stage. For analytics purposes, the plugin records only whether the share button click occurred on a mobile or desktop device — nothing more.
Fully GDPR-compliant and privacy-safe by design, Easy Social Share Buttons empowers you to refine your social sharing strategy and improve share button performance while protecting your audience's trust and privacy at every step.
Frequently asked questions
The dashboard counts button clicks — not confirmed shares. Clicks where the user closes the popup, private shares that networks no longer count publicly, removed shares, and shares made before you activated tracking all contribute to differences. This is expected behavior across all click-based analytics.
No. The analytics dashboard only loads when you access it inside the admin area. The click logger is a lightweight async request that has no measurable effect on your front-end page speed or Core Web Vitals scores.
Data is stored from the moment you activate analytics tracking. The "All time" period selector will show your complete history from that activation date onward. There is no expiry on stored data unless you manually reset it.
Yes. You can manage, reset, or delete all analytics data from the plugin settings under the Advanced tab. This is useful when relaunching a site or starting a fresh measurement period after major changes to your share button layout.
Click data appears in real time. As soon as a visitor clicks a share button on your site, the event is logged and visible in the dashboard on your next page load or refresh. There is no batching delay or hourly rollup.
No. The entire analytics system runs inside your WordPress installation. You do not need Google Analytics, Matomo, or any other external service. All data stays on your server and is accessible only through your WordPress admin.
